Flexibility

Home Visits for Part-Time, Returning and Semi-Retired GPs

Some GPs want fewer hours, a gentler return to work or a way to keep practising without a full roster. Home visits can fit.

On C.A.L.L.S you set your own availability and your membership only begins after your first confirmed booking, so you can start with one or two visits (how it works). Returning GPs should first check the Medical Board's recency of practice requirements.

You control the diary

There is no roster to fill. You set your hours, suburbs and fee, and decline the rest (source: C.A.L.L.S how it works).

Returning to practice: check the standard first

The Medical Board's fact sheet on returning to practice and its recency of practice registration standard set out what is required after a break. For example, for practitioners with at least two years' experience before the absence, an absence of one to three years requires a minimum of one year's pro rata CPD relevant to the intended scope before recommencing. The Board has been reviewing this standard, so check the current version.

Why home visits suit some patients

The RACGP's standards recognise home visits for patients confined by illness or disability. Longer 30-minute visits suit those presentations (C.A.L.L.S how it works).

Income without clinic overheads

No room rental and no commission applies on C.A.L.L.S (pricing). Typical fee ranges are in what GPs earn.
