Work as a home-visit GP in Sydney: side income now, build your own practice as we grow
C.A.L.L.S has not onboarded any GPs anywhere in Australia yet. This is an open invitation to Sydney GPs to be the first - starting as flexible side income around the work you already do, with the chance to build it into your main practice as the platform grows.
Australia's national bulk billing rate was 84.1% in the June 2026 quarter, down from 88.9% in 2020-21. A Cleanbill clinic survey found only 20.7% of clinics bulk bill new adult patients, down from around 35%, with an average national gap of $43.38. There is no C.A.L.L.S GP live in Sydney yet - this is a call for the first ones.
Why Sydney needs a bulk-billing alternative right now
Sydney's bulk-billing picture is not uniform. Official Medicare data for 2025-26 shows some PHN areas, such as South Western Sydney, bulk billing above 95% of GP services, while Northern Sydney sits well below 72% (Department of Health). That spread means large pockets of Sydney patients are already paying a gap, or struggling to find a bulk-billing clinic with capacity, long before you factor in the time cost of getting to a clinic at all.
The NSW Government's own bulk-billing support package estimates that each 1 percentage point drop in the bulk-billing rate adds roughly 3,000 extra emergency department presentations across the state (NSW Government). That is the state acknowledging, in its own numbers, that unmet GP demand does not disappear - it shows up as ED load. Research drawing on UWA and AIHW methods suggests a meaningful share of ED presentations, roughly a fifth to over half depending on definition, could be handled in general practice (UWA). A home-visit GP charging a transparent private fee is a direct answer to exactly that gap.
At the same time, more than 1.5 million Australians now delay or avoid seeing a GP due to cost, up from around 600,000 in 2022 (AAP, citing ABS data). Sydney, as the country's largest and most expensive city, is a significant share of that national total.
A side income that fits around the work you already do
You do not need to leave your clinic, locum work or hospital position to try this. C.A.L.L.S is built so a GP can start with two or three sessions a week in the suburb zones they choose, around the roster they already have (how it works). There is no quota, no room rental to cover before you earn a dollar, and no commission - you keep 100% of the fee you set, paying only a flat monthly membership (pricing). If a week is too busy, you simply close your availability. Nothing is owed.
This matters because the profession is under real strain. The RACGP's Health of the Nation reporting found over 70% of GPs report burnout, and almost a third say they plan to cut back or quit within five years (RACGP). A side income with full schedule control, rather than another fixed shift, is a different kind of addition to your week.
Be the first C.A.L.L.S GP in Sydney
Nobody has claimed Sydney yet. Deloitte Access Economics projects an 11,392 FTE GP shortfall nationally by 2032, equivalent to 27.9% of the workforce (RACGP), and the AMA estimates close to $4 billion has been stripped from general practice by the Medicare rebate freeze (AMA). That gap is the opportunity. A GP who joins early in Sydney is not slotting into an existing roster - they are setting the template for every GP who joins the city after them, and as bookings grow in their zones, a side income can become the foundation of a full home-visit practice run entirely on their own terms.

Does C.A.L.L.S already have GPs doing home visits in Sydney?
No. C.A.L.L.S has zero GPs onboarded anywhere in Australia yet, including Sydney. This page is aimed at GPs considering joining, not at patients looking to book a visit. The opportunity is to be among the first GPs live in Sydney.
How does the side income work alongside my existing clinic or hospital job?
You set your own availability windows and suburb zones, and only accept bookings that fit around your existing roster. There is no quota and no minimum hours (source: how it works).
What evidence is there that Sydney patients want an alternative to bulk billing?
The national bulk billing rate was 84.1% in the June 2026 quarter, down from 88.9% in 2020-21. A Cleanbill survey found only 20.7% of clinics bulk bill new adult patients, with an average gap of $43.38. Within Sydney, bulk billing is already uneven between PHN areas, pointing to real pockets of unmet demand.
What happens as C.A.L.L.S grows in Sydney?
An early GP in Sydney can build a full home-visit practice as the platform grows, not just hold a side gig. There is no commission - you keep 100% of the fee you set (source: pricing).
