Home-visit GP work in Brisbane: earn side income now, be first to build a full practice
No GP has joined C.A.L.L.S in Brisbane yet, or anywhere else in Australia. This is an invitation for a Brisbane GP to start with flexible side income around the work they already do, and be first to build it into a full practice as the platform grows.
Over 1.5 million Australians now delay or avoid seeing a GP due to cost, up from around 600,000 in 2022. A Cleanbill report found Brisbane among the electorates with no bulk-billing clinics open to new patients. No C.A.L.L.S GP is live in Brisbane yet - this is a call for the first ones.
Why Brisbane needs a bulk-billing alternative right now
A Cleanbill clinic survey, reported in early 2025, found Brisbane among a group of federal electorates with no bulk-billing clinic open to new adult patients, and put Brisbane residents' average out-of-pocket gap at around $50.62 per consultation, among the highest in Queensland (Cleanbill data, cited February 2025). That local pressure sits inside a broader national decline: the bulk billing rate was 84.1% in the June 2026 quarter, down from 88.9% in 2020-21, and a separate Cleanbill survey found only 20.7% of clinics nationally bulk bill new adult patients, with an average national gap of $43.38 (The Senior).
Unmet demand for GP care does not simply disappear - evidence drawing on UWA and AIHW methods suggests a meaningful share of emergency department presentations, roughly a fifth to over half depending on definition, could be handled in general practice (UWA). A private, transparently priced home visit is a direct way to intercept some of that load before it reaches an ED waiting room.
A side income that fits around the work you already do
You keep your clinic, locum or hospital role, and layer home visits on top. Pick the Brisbane suburb zones you want to cover and the hours you want to work (how it works). There is no quota, no room rental to clear before you earn anything, and no commission - you keep 100% of the fee you set, paying only a flat monthly membership (pricing). Scale it up or down as your other work changes.
The case for a different structure is backed by workforce data. The RACGP's Health of the Nation reporting found over 70% of GPs report burnout, and almost a third intend to cut back or quit within five years (RACGP), and only 13.1% of medical graduates now choose general practice as a career. A flexible add-on that you fully control is a different kind of workload than another fixed roster.
Be the first C.A.L.L.S GP in Brisbane
Nobody has claimed Brisbane yet. The AMA estimates close to $4 billion has been stripped from general practice by the Medicare rebate freeze, and Deloitte projects an 11,392 FTE national GP shortfall by 2032 (RACGP). A GP who joins first in Brisbane is not competing with an established roster - they are the roster, and as bookings grow, that side income has room to become a full-time home-visit practice on their own terms.

Can patients already book a C.A.L.L.S home visit in Brisbane?
No. C.A.L.L.S has zero GPs onboarded anywhere in Australia yet, including Brisbane. This page is for GPs considering joining, not for patients looking to book today.
How would this work as a side income alongside my current role?
You set your own Brisbane suburb zones and availability windows, so it fits around clinic sessions, locum shifts or hospital work. There is no quota (source: how it works).
Is there real evidence that Brisbane patients want an alternative to bulk billing?
A Cleanbill report cited Brisbane among electorates with no bulk-billing clinics open to new patients, with some of the highest out-of-pocket gaps in Queensland. Nationally, the bulk billing rate was 84.1% in June 2026, down from 88.9% in 2020-21, and over 1.5 million Australians now delay or avoid GP care due to cost.
What is the upside of joining C.A.L.L.S early in Brisbane?
An early Brisbane GP sets the pattern for every GP who joins after them. There is no commission, so as demand grows, side income can become a full practice (source: pricing).
